Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect from customers
When you create an account, buy data, or apply to sell data, we collect:
- Account details — name, business name, work email address, phone number and password.
- Licensing and verification details you provide when applying to buy or sell, including insurance licence numbers and any business documents you upload.
- Transaction records — orders placed, batches purchased, filters applied, amounts charged, and payment status.
- Support correspondence, including messages sent through our contact and support forms.
- Technical data generated by using the site — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and timestamps.
Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
2. Information we process about consumers
Consumer records are supplied to us by third-party lead vendors. We do not collect this information directly from consumers, and Alara Benefits is not the party that obtained the consumer's original consent. A record may contain name, postal address, telephone number, email address, age, the date and source of capture, and the consent disclosure the consumer was shown.
We use these records to:
- Run compliance checks — federal and state Do Not Call screening, known-litigator screening, duplicate detection and suppression against previously sold inventory.
- Make records available for purchase by verified insurance agents and agencies through the marketplace.
- Maintain a permanent suppression and deduplication index, so that a record that has been removed, disputed or opted out is not re-admitted later by another vendor.
We require every vendor to warrant that each record was collected with the consumer's express written consent and that a consent certificate exists for it. Records that fail a compliance stage are not sold.
3. How we share information
- Consumer records are shared with the verified insurance agent or agency that purchases them. That buyer becomes independently responsible for how it contacts the consumer.
- Service providers process data on our behalf — hosting and database infrastructure, payment processing, compliance and Do Not Call screening, email delivery, and analytics. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
- We disclose information where required by law, legal process, or a regulator, and where necessary to investigate suspected fraud or misuse of the platform.
- If our business is sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell customer account information. The marketplace exists to sell consumer lead records; that is the product, and this section describes it plainly rather than burying it.
4. State restrictions
Some jurisdictions restrict the sharing of consumer contact information with parties other than the original lead source. Where a state is restricted on our platform, records from that state are retained solely for deduplication and suppression, and are never offered for sale. Washington is currently treated this way.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under those laws.
To make a request, email info@alarabenefits.com or call (800) 251-4928. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time your state requires. There is no charge.
If you want to stop receiving calls, see our Do Not Call Policy, which explains how to be added to our internal suppression list.
6. Retention
We keep customer account and transaction records for as long as the account is open and afterwards for the period required by tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
Consumer records that have been removed from sale — because they were opted out, disputed, or reached their sale limit — are retained in a suppression index. That index holds the minimum needed to recognise the record again, and it exists specifically so the record is not re-admitted and re-sold by another vendor. Deleting it entirely would defeat the opt-out it enforces.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to consumer records is restricted by role, and every purchase and administrative action is written to an audit log. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Children
Our services are for licensed insurance professionals and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child's information has reached us, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting account holders will also be sent to the email address on the account.
